NetXeroC Pvt Ltd and Ivys partner to enhance biogas upgrading from wastewater in India.

A new partnership between NetXeroC Pvt Ltd and Ivys Adsorption Inc. is set to disrupt India’s wastewater sector by transforming it into highly profitable enterprises through enhanced valorization of industrial waste within circular models, fuelled by the burgeoning BioCNG.

This is made possible by the two companies’ combined platform, which uses cutting-edge biogas upgrading technology to transform wastewater into pipeline-grade biomethane for the first time. The first project in Meerut’s recycled paper sector will serve as a blueprint for scalable clean energy adoption across India’s wastewater industry.

This project will treat industrial wastewater using high-rate anaerobic digesters to produce raw biogas. To refine the biogas into renewable natural gas (RNG), a combined platform of our rotary valve PSA system and NetXeroC’s biochemical H₂S removal system (Thiopaq) will be deployed. The combination of these two technologies reduces operational costs while maintaining system reliability, addressing two of the biggest challenges in biogas upgrading. The modular design utilized in this project requires minimal maintenance while providing high recovery efficiency, making it well-suited for small to mid-sized industries that experience fluctuating loads and have space constraints.

India’s SATAT initiative (Sustainable Alternative Towards Affordable Transportation) has set an inspiring goal of establishing 5,000 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants by 2030.

As Indian industries face increasing demands to lower carbon emissions, models like this offer a viable and profitable way forward, where clean energy is not just a luxury but an essential result of engineering. This project signifies a significant shift in perspective. Wastewater, once viewed merely as a burden, is now being reassessed as a valuable energy resource capable of advancing climate objectives while enhancing profitability.

“This is about more than upgrading gas—it’s about upgrading India’s approach to industrial decarbonization,” stated Suchit Dekivadia, CEO of NetXeroC. “By incorporating established international technology, we’re bridging the innovation gap and developing scalable solutions for clean energy transition.”

“India offers a significant opportunity for large-scale clean energy development,” remarked Prabhu Rao, President & CEO of Ivys Adsorption Inc. “Our Biostream and PSA product lines are tailored to provide modular and scalable solutions in the expanding biogas sector, and this collaboration enables us to combine our engineering expertise with NetXeroC’s market presence and practical experience.”

Ivys and NetXeroC highlighted that their collaboration extends beyond just one project. Given India’s immense unused potential in the biogas sector, particularly with wastewater-fed resources, they anticipate expanding the partnership to several locations in the coming 12 to 18 months.
