Ivys Adsorption Inc., a leader in renewable gas purification and low-carbon technology solutions, announced its participation as a key technical partner in BioFlight Fuels’ SAF Flight School project—one of the initiatives supported by the Initiative for Sustainable Aviation Technologies (INSAT).
The project, led by BioFlight Fuels with funding administered by Strix, aims to transform municipal biogas into clean, renewable sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) through Fischer–Tropsch (FT) conversion. By doing so, it will help unlock new domestic feedstock sources, support commercialization, and advance Canada’s progress toward net-zero aviation by 2050.
As part of the collaboration, Ivys Adsorption will provide its expertise in biogas upgrading and purification, enabling the production of high-quality renewable feedstocks for SAF synthesis. Ivys will install its ‘plug and play’ upgrading product Biostream to upgrade biogas to high purity renewable natural gas. Together with Bright Spot Climate, the partners will also help assess and verify the lifecycle carbon performance of SAF produced through this pathway, ensuring transparency and sustainability from feedstock to final fuel.
